Our new Kiosk aims to improve and expand on our current functionality as well as add features our clients have been asking for without losing any of the current features, like smart codes and in-App remote. While the new look is more aesthetically pleasing, the following functional improvements have also been made:
Features
- Powder coated Stainless Steel with additional thickness improves the strength and integrity of the shell from the thinner aluminum shell of the Gen 3 Kiosk.
- Mechanical improvements in the die cuts and welding process creates tighter, stronger joints for improved integrity and weather resistance. This also protects the powder coating from cracking and peeling.
- A single, double-hinged door with dual locks on top and bottom increases security and durability of the kiosk and creates ease of access for technicians during repairs.
- An angled top allows for water runoff, preventing water from pooling at the top of the kiosk.
- All equipment resides inside the kiosk so no need for big, unsightly boxes or equipment in a guardhouse.
ID Scanner
- A simple self-contained box with flat-slotted opening and a finger opening to grab the ID is embedded into the kiosk preventing licenses from getting caught, disappearing, sliding off, or getting stuck while protecting the ID from the glare of the sun, rain and other weather conditions.
- A 16 MP camera captures the image from above so there is no glass to get scratched or dirty which decreases the need for maintenance while providing a clear, crisp image.
- Simple data capture straight from the camera avoids the need for firmware upgrades needed for stand-alone ID scanning units.
Intercom
- Separation of the stand-alone intercom into individual components, microphone, speaker and initiation button allows for easier, less expensive maintenance and allows for ease of troubleshooting and component adjustments.
- New piezoelectric initiation button is a pressure sensitive button without moving parts which avoids the button from wearing out or sticking for longer, more reliable button life while the new back lit button shows the button has been activated by changing colors.
- Independent adjustment of the microphone and speaker volume and sensitivity allows for custom adjustments for sites with unique or difficult communication issues.
Camera
- A recessed mini-camera protected by a stainless-steel ring avoids the cameras from being struck or otherwise damaged like the current dome camera.
- Dome cameras are prone to collecting condensation and attracting a film inside the dome which needs periodic cleaning while the new design avoids this issue.
QR Code Scanner
- A QR-code scanner has been added as an additional automated feature to screen guests. Many clients have requested this upgrade, and we delivered with a small, powerful unit built in.
Touch Screen
- A weather resistant, glare resistant touch screen has been added which will have additional uses as this technology matures, including a QR-code sync with the guest’s smartphone.
- Allows for written messages, videos and other multimedia to be displayed to your guests and vendors which can be customized for your needs.
LED Backlit Logo
- Provides a 20th Century aesthetic as well as extra light in dark environments. The backlit logo proudly displays Virtual Guard as the service provider adding additional accountability and branding.
